1839 GEORGE WHITEFIELD. Fine Ebony and Mother of Pearl Wax Seal - Great Awakening Centenary. ManuscriptA really wonderful antique ebony and mother of pearl wax seal of George Whitefield produced for the 1839 Methodist Centenary. It was produced in both John Wesley and George Whitefield variants, with the Whitefield being by far the more rare. A charming full bust in what seems to be ebony, or something imitating it, with inlaid clerical tie in mother of pearl. It measures 3. 25 inches in height and retains original diced brass wax seal at base.
